Vegan Curry and Date Spread
We must admit we are a little late to the party with this recipe. We didn't really have curry and date spread on our radar, even though there are now countless recipes on the internet and one or two ready-made products in the supermarket. And recently, it was even a big topic on the German Podcast "Fest und Flauschig." Well oops! We were asking ourselves: Why have we never actually tried this spread before?
Well! But there's always time to make up for lost time. So we made our own small version of the spread and prepared a creamy base from vegan cream cheese and plain tofu, which we then seasoned with curry powder and chopped dates. And lo and behold, it actually tastes really good. The realization comes late, but it comes! If you are a fan of sweet and savory dishes and want to try something new on your bread, this recipe is perfect for you.
For the preparation, we used plain tofu from Taifun Tofu, which is made from 100% organic ingredients and whose soybeans come exclusively from Germany, Austria and France. It consists of just three ingredients: soybeans, water and coagulant. Our recipe has made it into a sweet and salty spread, but with the right marinade or a dash of soy sauce, it naturally goes well with countless dishes.
