Homemade Peach Iced Tea
It’s summer, it’s hot, you’re lying on your picnic blanket in a park and the sun is shining on your face. The only thing missing now is a refreshing drink and we have just the right one for you!
Homemade iced teas are way better than the onesyou can buy, because they contain less sugar and you can always 'season' them to taste. More lime juice, maybe or some fresh herbs? One of our favorite combinations is peaches, lime and mint. Let's get started!
Homemade Peach Iced Tea
1.5 liters
45 minutes (+ time to cool down)
Ingredients
- 3 bags black tea
- 1.5 l (6 cups) hot water
FOR PEACH SYRUP
- 4 peaches
- 125 g (1 cup) sugar
- 250 m1 (1 cup) water
ALSO
- 1-2 limes
- 2 peaches for serving
- mint leaves for serving
Instructions
- Place teabags in hot water and let sit for the time written on the package. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool down.
- Wash, pit and cut peaches into smaller chunks. Add peaches, sugar, and water to a small pot and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer over medium heat for approx. 30 minutes until a thicker syrup forms. Remove from heat and let cool down a bit.
- Strain syrup, then add the syrup to your black tea and stir to combine. Add lime juice to taste - you can use one or two limes for that.
- Refrigerate peach iced tea until serving and fill into glasses. Serve over ice cubes with freshly sliced peaches and mint.
